I've read reviews about this item that almost scared me off! Fortunately another reviewer mentioned the seller he purchased from, "CCMACCESSORIES" and raved about the quality of the item he received. That sold me! The cable I received fit my HTC Inspire 4G perfectly, has worked flawlessly, and is the exact same as the OEM cable boxed with my phone when newly purchased. Best advice I've ever read in any product review is to check out the available sellers and their seller feedback before buying, so glad I did. I should have read all the reviews. It doesn't work with the HTC EVO 4G. It may work with other phones not EVO 4G nor the Shift. The phone acts like it's charging but after hours still no charge. Packaging and shipping is great that's why I gave a 2 star rating.
